Our story begins with Mike Hickman, a lifelong sports enthusiast and dedicated supporter of rugby league, particularly the Wigan Warriors.
Through his connection to the sport, Mike had the opportunity to assist a couple of players with their tax returns, quickly realising that the financial needs of professional athletes were far from straightforward.
Fluctuating income, complex sponsorship deals, and the need for future financial security presented unique challenges that traditional accountancy services were ill-equipped to handle.
Recognising the need for specialist support in this niche, he established Practical Sporting Solutions to provide tailored, expert advice that empowers sporting professionals to focus on their careers while securing their financial futures.
