Practical Business Solutions does exactly what it says on the tin, we provide practical advice and services to business people so that they can get the right solution to their problems.

The PBS Story

Practical Business Solutions started in 2009 when Mike Hickman was working at a logistics firm, acting as a Financial Director.

Given his previous experience working in various industries and by recognising the strengths and weaknesses in the market, Mike decided to set up an accountancy practice with a difference.

Mike set up shop in his hometown of Wigan, Greater Manchester due to its ideal position in the North West. Starting off on his own, Mike has worked tirelessly to provide a great service for his customers and has grown his customer base organically over the last decade. Practical Business Solutions has gone from strength to strength and now looks after clients from all over the UK in various industries. Many of these clients have lasted the test of time, with [customer retention figure] who have been a PBS customer from day one.

    Whilst working as a consultant, Mike set up Practical Business Solutions from his spare bedroom

  2. 2011

    Due to taking on several new customer, PBS moves into new office at Hewitt House, Orrell

  3. 2012

    The office needs to extend due to growth in the client base and employing new team members

  4. 2013

    PBS establishes new partnerships to bolster the excellent service it provides to customers

  5. 2016

    Practical Sporting Solutions is created, specifically to help sporting professionals with tax and financial planning

  6. 2020

    PBS moves offices and brings in new teams members to cater for the increasing customer base
